Clark Realty Wins Two Pillars of the Industry Awards
HOLLYWOOD, Fla. — The National Association of Homebuilders (NAHB) honored Clark Realty Capital with two Pillars of the Industry awards at a ceremony in Hollywood, Fla. In the Site Plan category, The Villages at Fort Belvoir took home top honors for a Mixed-Use Community. Additionally, Monterey Bay Military Housing received the top award in the category of Best Affordable Neighborhood Revitalization. NAHB also selected Clark Realty's communities at Naval Base San Diego, Moffett Field, and Fort Irwin as finalists for these prestigious awards.

"It is an incredible honor to receive recognition from a group as esteemed as the National Association of Homebuilders," said Tom Livelli, development executive for Clark Realty Capital. "We strive to provide military families with state-of-the-art housing communities that will improve their quality of life, and this award reflects the industrious attitude and dedication our team brings to achieving this goal."

Clark Realty took home two of nineteen builder awards at the conference, a testament to the exemplary work Clark Realty has done in military housing. Both of these military projects beat out fierce competition from private sector entries in their respective categories. The judges noted that The Villages at Fort Belvoir excelled in integrating human-scale within the neighborhood, retail, and offices uses. In the Affordable Neighborhood Revitalization category, Monterey Bay Military Housing impressed the judges with its use of market-rate finishes, creation of pedestrian-friendly neighborhoods and walkways, and utilization of buildings instead of fences as property boundaries and site enclosures.

The Pillars of the Industry Award is the most coveted award in the multifamily housing industry with an array of categories including apartment and condominium development, marketing, and property management. Finalists for the awards not only provide modern, attractive communities for residents, but they also distinguish themselves through creative and forward-thinking design and development techniques.

The Villages at Fort Belvoir, for example, contains the first-of-its-kind mixed-use "Town Center" on a military base. The Department of the Army is so pleased with the results that it has begun similar projects at installations around the country. Monterey Bay Military Housing in Monterey, California leverages on innovative public/private partnership to provide high-quality, affordable homes and safe, walkable communities in one of the most expensive real estate markets in the country. Each of these award-winning properties provides military families with a comfortable, attractive home to call their own.
