Clark CARES Sponsors Inaugural Charity Golf Tournament at Joint Base Andrews
JOINT BASE ANDREWS, Md. — On Tuesday, July 13, Clark Builders Group and Clark Realty Capital hosted the inaugural Clark CARES charity golf tournament at Joint Base Andrews. The tournament attracted 86 golfers representing 35 corporate sponsors and raised $45,000 in charitable proceeds which will benefit Stephen Decatur Middle School and Francis T. Evan Elementary School. Both schools are part of the Prince George's County Public School system and are attended by children of active duty military personnel assigned to Joint Base Andrews.

"When corporations share their resources with local organizations like this, it brings together the ‘haves' and the ‘have nots' to form a stronger community," explained Gail Olliverrie, mother of two and president of the Stephen Decatur Middle School PTA. "These resources will allow us to provide more for students and in turn the whole area will benefit."

"We are thrilled with the outcome," said Sean Callahan, development executive with Clark Realty Capital. "For an event in its first year, the participation is truly outstanding and is a testament to the civic-minded companies who contributed. We are grateful to our generous sponsors and look forward to continuing this tradition, helping to provide better educational opportunities for the children of military families residing at Joint Base Andrews as well as students throughout the Prince George's County community."

In addition to competing in a round of golf on the courses at Joint Base Andrews, players enjoyed a bagel breakfast, on-course refreshments, and entered various special contest holes along the way. At the tournament's end, participants attended a check presentation luncheon where tournament organizers announced the event beneficiaries, tournament winners, and raffle prize winners.
